Barclays Premier League

Since August 1998, FOX Soccer has featured captivating match coverage from the most-watched sporting league in the world. The Barclays Premier League was formed in 1992 with teams at the top of the English football league system, consisting of 20 clubs. In its 20 seasons, the title has been won by only five teams: Manchester United with twelve wins, Arsenal with three, Chelsea with three, Blackburn Rovers with one, and Manchester City - reigning champions - with one. The BPL features some of the best players in the world including Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard (ENG), Chelsea’s Fernando Torres (ESP), Manchester United's Wayne Rooney (ENG) and Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez (MEX), Arsenal's Robin Van Persie (NED), Manchester City’s Sergio "Kun" Aguero (ARG), and Fulham's Clint Dempsey (USA) to name a few.

Manchester City recently won their first league title since 1968, beating Queens Park Rangers 3–2 on the final day of the season with a last-minute goal from Sergio Agüero. The title was City's first Premier League success, making them the fifth club to win the Premier League in its twenty-year history. It was the first time the Premier League had been won on goal difference and the first time a previously relegated club in the Premier League had won the title.
